Write a clothing description buyers can check
By Turbo List · Published 5 November 2026 · Illustrative examples
A strong second-hand description is a compact record of the item: what it is, what the label says, how it measures and what wear a buyer should expect. It is not a promise that an item is perfect or that a particular title will improve search ranking.
Separate observations from assumptions
A readable label can support a brand, size or fabric composition. The appearance of a garment can suggest a color or shape. It cannot establish authenticity, the production decade, the original purchase price or exact measurements. Use a known brand only when you can support it, and avoid describing an item as vintage solely because of its styling.
Describe an uncertain fabric as an observation, not a composition claim: 'soft textured fabric; composition label missing' is clearer than '100% wool' inferred from a photograph. Similarly, 'relaxed shape when laid flat' is not a guarantee of fit for every buyer.
Replace vague praise with verifiable detail
Keep the title focused on the actual item. A useful order is brand when known, garment type, label size and one distinguishing detail. This is a writing convention, not a claim about any marketplace algorithm. Leave out unrelated brands and exaggerated phrases such as 'rare investment piece' unless you can substantiate them.
Illustrative before: Amazing green jumper! Perfect condition, fits everyone. Illustrative after — details supplied by the seller: Green crew-neck sweatshirt, label size M Green long-sleeve sweatshirt with ribbed cuffs and hem. Composition label reads 80% cotton and 20% polyester. Flat chest width approximately 54 cm; length approximately 66 cm. Light pilling inside the cuffs and a small mark near the front hem, shown in the photos. No other faults found during my inspection. Please compare measurements before buying.
Use condition language that explains the wear
'Good condition' means little without specifics. Mention fading, pilling, stretched elastic, repairs, missing buttons and marks. Distinguish a check you performed from a guarantee: 'zip opened and closed during inspection' is more informative than 'will never break'. Do not label an item new if it has been worn, and disclose missing tags where relevant.
Avoid claiming smoke-free or pet-free storage unless that is true and known. Never add shipping promises, cleaning claims or accessories that are not included simply because they appear in a generated draft.
- State label size and your real measurements separately.
- List known wear and identify the affected area.
- Say what is included, especially for bundles or accessories.
- Keep color wording consistent with the unfiltered photographs.
- Delete unsupported authenticity, age and material claims.
Review the AI draft line by line
Treat Turbo List output as a first draft. Compare each factual field with the garment and labels, add measurements yourself, then check condition and included items. Remove irrelevant hashtags. Select the category and required item fields inside the marketplace; pasting a description does not fill every platform field or publish the listing.
For a multi-item outfit, inspect and describe each piece separately. The shared generator may focus on one garment and cannot guarantee a complete inventory of every visible accessory. If you sell a bundle, list the exact pieces and individual condition notes yourself.
